Countdown to move into the studio

In one week we will move into the "House of Audio" studios again to record our follow up album to "Aus die Asche". We will do a new Saltatio Mortis-Podcast (this time not only for the studio!). Here are some pictures of writing the songs for it.

Last demo work

We

are at work with the last tracks for our demos before we go into the studio to record the album songs. This week we did some vocals with Alea, some electric guitars with Samoel and today I have El Silbador in the studio to have a look at some of the pipe-melodies.

After that we'll do the last mix and everybody will get the logic-projects for practicing and preperation.

New album title revealed

If you bought a ticket for our tour in october 2009 you already know the tour name which is the same as the new album. The album will be called: "Wer Wind sät"!

We have a lot of songs to record when we will enter the studio in february!

Tourdates announced

In my tour-section the tourdates for 2009 are online (more will come). In october 2009 we will tour with the new Saltatio Mortis album in germany, austria and swizerland.

During that tour we will play 15 shows and also shoot a live-dvd.

Marina Regler - Demo 2009 online!

Marina Regler put up previews of her "Demo 2009" on her myspace.com-page. We both co-produced and recorded the demo in my studio early january.

Studio Session

I had a nice studio-session with female-zither-player Marina Regler two days ago. She recorded a few demo-songs using an acoustic zither and an electric zither.

When she puts up the tunes on her website I will post a link.

Saltatio Mortis on Feuertanz DVD 2008

On December 10th the "Feuertanz Festival 2008"-DVD was released which includes 3 stage performances of our set. Feuertanz DVD 2008

The songs of "Saltatio Mortis" on this live-DVD are "Choix des Dames", "Falsche Freunde" and "Spielmannsschwur".

Other groups on this DVD are "Subway To Sally", "Fiddler's Green", "Rabenschrey", "Nachtgeschrei" and "Albi's Corner". Bonus-Material consist of interviews and impressions of the festival.

Saltatio Mortis - Demos

At the moment we're in the studio currently reviewing all our demo-songs with Trosi (Thomas Heimann-Trosien) our producer. This means in particular that we phone or email about suggestions depending on song-parts.

Today we re-recorded some guitar-parts from Samoel to make a song more rocking here and there ... can't get much into datail. Until christmas eve we will have a lot of these sessions with most of the bandmembers that played on the demo-songs.

Saltatio Mortis & Doro Pesch

Saltatio Mortis is invited by the german queen of metal Doro Pesch to play at her 25th anyversary. The concert will be at the 13th of december 2008 in Düsseldorf (ISS Dome).

Doro Pesch will contribute vocals to one of our songs on the next album which we will perform that night for the first time with Doro Pesch on stage.

"Aus der Asche"-Tour: November 2008

Wow, what a great end-leg of the "Aus der Asche"-Tour. We played four new songs from our next album in clubs in Hameln, Aschaffenburg, Weinheim, Pirmasens and Memmingen. We had much fun on the road seeing and meeting all those familiar faces and also many new fans.

Special thanks to our supportband "Billige Kopie" - you guys rock!

Teddy Schmacht DVD-Recording

Yesterday I played with "Teddy Schmacht & die Hits". We recorded almost 3 hours of music in the Radio Oriente-Club in Karlsruhe.

With one rehearsal some days before it was quite a really good gig. All of the band played at a very high level and we had a lot of fun. Would great to repeat that.
